Zebra Birthday gift

Good afternoon bloggies! I hope everyone is having a great, relaxing day. I got the house close to clean, grocery shopping done and some craft time! I even recorded a video! I'll post that later tonight hopefully.

This afternoon, I worked on a gift for my husband's little cousin. Her birthday is coming up so I wanted to make her something special. Her mom said they are redoing her room with hot pink, black and zebra. This is what I came up with. I'm pretty happy with it since it was my first time working with Modge Podge...pretty easy! The picture is stretched canvas I bought from Hobby Lobby. The pink pattern fabric is, well, fabric! Gray paper from Stampin Up, ribbon from Hobby Lobby. Her name is from Gypsy Font and zebra from Create a Critter. I also distressed the edges with ink.

More on the trifold shutter card soon...this is what my video is on! They are sooooo easy and so cool!

Scooter Girl card

Happy Saturday night everyone! I am getting ready to play some Wii and relax. I got soooo much done today! Got a little crafting in, got a pedicure (it's important!), did some yard work, picked up the house and made spaghetti for dinner :) Tomorrow, my daughter is going over to my mom and dad's house to have fun so I plan on cleaning and CRAFTING of course!

I made this card for a 14 year-old's birthday. I think the scooter girl from Sweethearts is so cute! I hand stitched the white thread on the side through the border punch. I think it's a cool effect and it's really simple.

Have a great rest of the weekend bloggies!

Throwback Thursday Challenge: Doodlecharms

Emma over at My Creative Time is hosting another Throwback Thursday challenge! These are so fun. This week, we were challenged to create a scrapbook layout using Doodlecharms. It was a great challenge for me because recently I've been doing cards and the scrapbook layout was a nice change of scenery. I also don't use Doodlecharms (at all). It's good to mix it up! She used Peachy Keen Stamps on her layout, so she inspired me to use mine too. I've decided: I need more Peachy Keen Stamps. Surprising, I know!

First Challenge Win!

Oh My Crafts!, an online craft retailer (which has excellent prices by the way), held a wedding-themed challenge a few weeks ago on Facebook. I was excited to enter a card I made for my cousin's wedding.

I just found out this morning that I won! They posted the 2 winners on Facebook, and I had to read it twice to make sure that was really my name listed. LOL. Anyway, I'm really excited about this - my first challenge win! Thanks for being a part of my excitement. They are sending me a prize, but winning was an honor enough.

Here is the link to their Facebook post:

Hugs + Kisses Froggie Card

My friend's little girl is having surgery today after finding a brain tumor. My heart is heavy for her this morning. Lots of thoughts and prayers headed her way. She loves Princess and the Frog just like my daughter, so I made her this card to send to her today. I hope it brings a smile to her sweet little face. xoxo Madi!
