Grounded from CHA Giveaway #4

Sooooo.....you know this bean stamp? I was putting away supplies the other night and realized I was missing it after making this card. No biggie, I thought, it will show up eventually. Last night, I was sitting there working on a card when all of a sudden, I felt something small, round and somewhat cold on my foot. I jumped out of my chair faster than I jump on a good sale at Michael's and screamed. I SWORE I had put my foot on some nasty, ugly, grotesque bug. Or maybe perhaps a lizard. Yes, we have lizards in Texas.

I cringed and got down under my desk. OHHHH LOOK! It's just my coffee bean stamp! HOORAY!

Friday's treat....2 MORE K&Company stamp sets! Just leave a comment on what creepy crawly thing you hate and a way for me to get a hold of you. I'll pick the winners from each day's giveaway on Sunday. Good luck!

Happy Friday bloggies!

Frankenstein card

I stayed up late to catch My Pink Stamper's live webcast from CHA, but due to technical difficulties, she was unable to hook up to the feed. So myself along with some very fun crafty peeps chatted and had a fun lil party all on our own! After shutting down the Mac, I cleaned up the house a little and ran into my craft room to whip this little dude up! Isn't he cute? For a monster, anyway.

Tomorrow, I'll post my last Grounded from CHA Giveaway and a funny story about a coffee bean stamp. Night night bloggies!

You're a Peach card

On my way home from work last night, I stopped in at Michael's. I always love hunting for a good bargain. They seem to move stuff around all the time and it's always a fun treasure hunt! I found K&Company paper stacks for.....$1.99 and $3.99! WHAT! Crazy. The green patterned paper is from the Mira stack.

I'll be posting my second stamp giveaway in a few minutes, so be on the lookout!

Grounded from CHA Giveaway

Were you ever grounded as a teenager? I was. Countless times. For a whole day. This is how I feel staying at home to work and take care of my other adult duties while what seems like ALLLLLLL the other crafty people are up in the Windy City shopping until their little hearts are content, surrounded by brilliant new products, creativity and crafty friends. SIGH.

So, in honor of those "grounded" at home, I am doing a daily stamp giveaway right here on my blog-o! Yep, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (and maybe even Sunday) I'm giving away a stamp set. All you have to do is leave a comment on each day's stamp giveaway post with your email! I will pick the winners from each post on Sunday. If you are going to CHA, you can still win, I won't hold it against you (I'll just be jealous) :)

Good luck, and have a great week of crafting! (And don't worry, most of those awesome new toys that come out at CHA will be available for our eager little hands soon.)

Tuesday's Treat.....just leave a comment telling me what you are looking forward to seeing from CHA this year. Don't forget a way for me to get a hold of you.

Snappy Birthday card

Ohhhh making boy birthday cards....NOT one of my specialities! I got Animal Kingdom a few days ago and wanted to use it. I really like this cartridge for less "cutesy" animals. Don't get me wrong, I still love Create a Critter, but these animals are MUCH more mature :) I'm also entering this in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge, this week the theme is "At the Zoo".

PKS Challenge 33 - Sketch

I promise I will stop my Halloween / Mini Monsters obsession soon. It's my current fave, but don't fret - I will move on shortly I'm sure :) Peachy Keen Stamps is having another weekly challenge, this week it's a fun sketch! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

Coffee card

As I'm sitting here sipping my coffee this morning, I have come to a realization. I basically can't function without coffee. Anyone else? I love it. It's probably a bad addiction, but there could be worse things I suppose. I found these cute stamps at Michael's that are tea and coffee themed and had to snag them, I included the link below.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Mini Monsters card and video

Happy Tuesday everyone! Wait - it's only Tuesday?!?! UGH! Last night I spent the entire night cleaning my house for company this weekend. I did manage to get a layout done though.

I put together this Mini Monsters card Sunday and wanted to share the quick video.

Peachy Keen Challenge: Summer Destinations

This challenge was to create a layout with a favorite summer destination. We went to Sea World this summer and my daughter LOVED it. So did I! Our favorite part was feeding and petting the dolphins, such a cool experience. I love scrapping a page or two on Sundays, it helps me feel a little caught up since I'm so behind on my books.

My Creative Time Challenge: Holiday Card

Emma's challenge was to create a holiday card. Let me just say: I love the Mini Monsters cartridge! I didn't think I would like it when it first came out but paired with the CUTE Peachy Keen Monster stamps....well, you just have to have it! :)

Amore layout

The Cricut Circle French Manor cartridge finally updated to my Gypsy, so I made this layout tonight. Tomorrow is my husband and I's anniversary. I was having a really nice evening in my craft room until I went to let my doggies out and a lizard ran in. I HATE those things!!!

I like how this double page spread layout comes from ONE 12x12 cut on my Cricut. I used the frame of the cut for the left side, and the bird on the right. Saves paper and coordinates! So easy.

Give a Hoot Cartridge Exploration

The first card I made last weekend. I had a video for it, but I decided I didn't like it so you just get to see the card :) The stamp is from Michael's Studio G, so fitting! The tree is "Cuttlebugged" with an embossing folder. I love this cartridge the more I play with it because I love doing "earthy" projects with it...craft card stock, greens, neutral colors and brown. I used the iRock for both projects on the critters' eyes.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Ice Cream layout

Jinger from Provo Craft was hosting a Ice Cream layout contest last night on Facebook, so I jumped in and put together this layout last night. It was a quick project, but I love participating in challenges not just for the prizes, but to push myself to get some projects done on a deadline. Have a great Thursday everyone!

Pink for Monique!

Something I have always really admired is how caring the scrapbooking community is. Paper crafters, although there are probably thousands of us, all seem to be one big happy family. We are supportive, friendly and inspiring. Monique, a fellow scrapbooker/Cricut lover, was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. My Pink Stamper has started a card drive for her, you can find the info here. Below is the card I created for her, it will be going out in the mail tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers are going out to her....cancer really and truly SUCKS.

Ya'll remember that song...I'm just a squirrel, tryin to get a nut, so move your butt? LOL this card reminds me of that song. ANYWAY...

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. I was able to hit up an AWESOME garage sale this morning and scored about 15 sets of CTMH and Stampin Up stamps for...$5! So crazy. Check it out!

iRock Review

A few of you have asked about the iRock. I ordered mine from Oh My Crafts a few weeks ago and have been using it on almost every project since. I got the bundle, which included the tool, the flower + stencil kit and the small tube of stones (these are called Glam Rocks). The other gem option is the Hot Rocks Compacts. It appears they are sold out right now!

There are two different types of stones that you can get for it: the crystals and the flat nail head type. I managed to find a TON of different gem options at Hobby Lobby (the two bags on the left in the picture). They come in all sorts of colors and sizes. These two in my picture were $2.99 a piece. You can also get multi packs of different colors for $14.99. I am waiting to use a coupon on those ;) Look for "iron on" hot fix with glue on the back. So yes, you can use other brands!

The tool itself is really simple to use. You turn on the switch for 15 seconds to let the base heat up. DON'T TOUCH IT! The only thing that I find a little annoying is you are supposed to hold down the button while pushing down the gem, but that's not a huge problem. It takes about 2 seconds to adhere the gem. I made the mistake of slightly burning my finger when I pushed on the stone to make sure it was on securely.  Learn from my mistake! I also got a little worried when my paper around the gem discolored a bit, but it came right back. You can bling out anything with this tool! Jeans, shirts, paper, glass, picture frames, the list goes on!

I'll be making a video tutorial this weekend so you can see this baby in action!

Emma at My Creative Time is having another Throwback Thursday Challenge - this week it's animals. I made this gift card holder for a Starbucks gift card to go in it, isn't my cow CUTE?!?!

Throwback Thursday Challenge: New Arrival

Emma over at My Creative Time is hosting another Throwback Thursday Challenge. I had to squeeze this one in last minute since I just back into town from the 4th holiday! I need to go unpack :(

Do you ever have those moments in crafting when you feel like you've run out of creativity? You sit staring blankly at your Gypsy screen or in your craft room looking at the paper, searching for some kind of inspiration? I get that way. Some days I've got tons of ideas, other days I don't. On days I don't, I'll go shopping for extra goodies or organize things in my craft room. OR, I'll completely step away from everything craft to give myself a mental break. It happens. This project I'm not in love with, but I've realized I can't be IN LOVE with everything I create.

For this challenge, I used my new iRock that was waiting for me in the mail. I got it from Oh My Crafts. Pretty nifty, check it out! (The silver bling on the card.)

I hope EVERYONE has a GREAT 4th of July weekend and let's all remember why we celebrate this fabulous holiday: to honor our beautiful country!

It's a good, good day as a new My Pink Designer!

So there I was, sleeping sound, when my phone starts buzzing. BZZZ BZZZ. I sleepily awake and grab my phone...an email from My Pink Stamper...  "No way..." I thought...WAY!!!!!

I was chosen to be part of her AWESOME Pink Designers team! I am very excited. I cannot wait to get started on all of her creative projects and share some fun ideas along the way. I am honored to share this title with 7 other very crafty girls. You can see their submissions on her website. Get ready! Thank you so much Robyn for this special privilege.

I submitted a trifold shutter card, which I love making. Have a great day everyone!
