Happy Halloween + Birthday Card!

Happy Halloween everybody! I am having a GREAT day! I have learned to love my Sundays. They are great days for getting things done, baking, cooking, spending time with my family, crafting and today....trick or treating!!! I can't wait for tonight! Here are some pictures of what I've been up to today:

First, pumpkin pancakes! (orange food coloring and chocolate chip faces)

Next, pumpkin carving of Tinkerbell and a scary face (My husband did these, aren't they impressive?!?!?!) He broke off Tink's nose at the end, so he was creative and put it back on with a toothpick, ha! My daughter loved it since she is Tinkerbell for Halloween.

Then, we made apple crisp! Mmmmm my favorite and it's so easy! I am also making chicken noodle soup in the crock pot so we can eat that before trick or treating :)

And now, I just finished a birthday card for my Grandma during my daughter's nap time....

Another easel card! I had a VERY hard time not using my Peachy Keen Stamps Laughy Taffy Face on this, but I just got Everyday Faces and I really wanted to show ya'll how cute these little faces are! So cheerful and sweet. I used my new Sweet Treats cartridge, Stampin Up card stock, PKS Everyday Character Face Assortment, Pink By Design stamp, stickles, ribbon, white gelly roll pen and The Paper Studio patterned paper.

Have a SAFE and fun Halloween bloggies!

It's a Zoo! Three Animal Kingdom Cards

Ok, these just make me laugh. What would I do without Peachy Keen Stamps? They add so much character to my projects. These three little animals are from the Animal Kingdom cartridge. Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge this week is animal themed, and while I was tempted to reach for Create a Critter, I just KNEW Animal Kingdom had great potential. I used PKS Critter Faces and Animal Faces (2 different sets).

I made these cards just in time to get me in the spirit of going to the Texas State Fair tomorrow, they have an awesome petting zoo and I know my daughter is going to LOVE it! Have a great weekend bloggies!

PKS Let's Face It Fridays: Fall Decor

Good morning and happy Friday! Thanks for hoppin over to check out my PKS Let's Face It Friday project! I really do love Fall. It is finally starting to get chilly here in Dallas and love hot cider, hot cocoa, pumpkins and the crisp air. I also LOVE tights and boots! I think boots might be one of my other guilty pleasures besides craft supplies :)

This week, the PKS LFIF (Let's Face It Friday) challenge is to create some fun fall decor. As I was digging out my Halloween decorations, I came across this wreath I had bought last year at Target. I think it's so pretty, but I decided it needed a little something more. So of course I decided it needed some cute PKS leaves, what do you think? I used Snow Cuties (this set really is so versatile), Dolly Dumpkins and Simple Sallies.  The leaves are from Create a Critter and Give a Hoot.

Head on over to the PKS challenge blog to get your fall decor on and Happy Fall Ya'll!

Now onto my project. I have decided I am a little OCD when it comes to choosing the perfect Peachy Keen Stamp, would ya'll agree? Hi, my name is Erin and I have a PKS addiction....

Anyway, last night I got to unpack all my wonderful Stampin Up goodies from the clearance sale! How exciting! I got so many ink pads I'm going to buy the color caddy. I'll let you guys know how I like it when I get it. This card is made with my new stuff. Have a great day everyone!

Crafting with Koko

One of our nicknames for my daughter is Koko, and I needed a matching "C" sound to go with Crafting, hence: crafting with Koko :)

This weekend, my daughter got to experience the Fort Worth Stockyards, soooo much fun! She loved it. I am a HUGE animal lover and I want to teach her to love animals too. One day it is a dream of mine to own a horse! She loves them, just a little nervous on them still (as you can see in these pictures) HAHA

Tonight, I let her pick out everything for a thank you card for her uncle and aunt for her birthday gifts. She was feeling under the weather today, but after basically sleeping all day, I'm hoping she is well rested. I am posting this as part of Robyn's challenge over at My Pink Stamper. From the Cricut cut to coloring the inside to addressing the envelope, she had a say in everything about this card (with some help from me on the stamping). She loves picking out all the details! She learned what a Peachy Keen Stamp is, which is essential in my book! We used the Simply Charmed cartridge for this one.

Erin + Papertrey Ink = love!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did! As you know, I'm a big fan of Papertrey Ink. While I love my Stampin Up too, I just love Papertrey Ink for different reasons. I love their colors, the quality of their card stock and I especially love the color coordination system, especially the ribbon. Their stamp sets are reasonably priced and really cute as well.
I put in an order about a while back and received my shipment on Friday. I didn't plan on these colors coordinating, but when I pulled them out of the box, I thought "wow, these colors look beautiful together!" and wanted to challenge myself. The colors are: vintage cream, smokey shadow, true black and simply chartreuse. If you are new to Papertrey Ink, you can try out their Perfect Match cardstock sampler pack, 50 sheets for only $10 (this is what I did my first purchase).  The stamp set I purchased is Fillable Frames #8. For $5, I am definitely buying more of these fillable frames!

They are not paying me to say great things about them (I'm not that popular) I just really love them! Here are a couple of cards I made with the colors.

About to Hatch card: Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge

Good morning lovely bloggies! I hope everyone is having a great start to their Thursday. Tomorrow is Friday - yippee hooray! Love it. Isn't my little chick card cute? For Emma's challenge, we had to make a shaped card using the color orange. My favorite is her feather hair :)

Wednesday bits

I've struggled with how much I should "talk" on my blog, does that make any sense? I know a majority of my followers are fellow crafters and they want to see projects, not shameless plugs for products, etc. However, at the same time, this is (after all) my blog. So I thought I would save Wednesdays for random thoughts / updates / info I want to share with anyone willing to read :) So a couple of things....

First (non craft related): my bestie since age 5 has THE most hilarious, pee your pants from laughter blog. I mean it is seriously just so funny I can't even begin to explain. It's her ramblings of events that occur in her life. If you need a good laugh during your day, check her blog out here.

Second (craft related): Stampin Up is having a HUGE clearance right now. I went a bit crazy yesterday with it but I got some insanely good deals. We are talkin $2.49 ink pads and $2.49 punches and $1.49 card stock. GREAT deals. My rep Barb is amazingly awesome if you don't have one. I of course LOVE Stampin Up and use their products in almost every project. You can buy from her here.

Third: The Dave Matthews Band album Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is amazing.

Here is a card I made some time ago but realized I never posted. It is a baby shower card using New Arrival cartridge and a Papertrey Ink stamp. Have a great Wednesday bloggies!

Peachy Keen Challenge Let's Face It Fridays: Music Rocker!

This week's challenge: create a card or scrapbook layout that shows your inspiration. Mine? Well, my inspiration comes from many places, but I think one of my biggest influences is music! I love music. I listen to music everyday, everywhere and all kinds of it. It makes me happy, sad, nostalgic, optimistic. It makes me get up and dance. It invokes lots of feelings and inspiration. So this chick is livin loud, just like me!
