Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month Challenge

Hi friends! I am home today with a sick kiddo :( BOO! It's that time of year again. Last night, I made this card for the Unity Stamp Co.'s Kit of the Month Challenge. I LOVE sketch challenges, especially for cards, because I typically stick to the same ole same ole when it comes to card layouts. This one was super fun! I love the slanted edge. I realized yesterday I am part of the Kit of the Month Club and hardly ever use the stamps in them...so that won't be happening anymore! The stamps in these kits are so beautiful, and you get additional discounts on their website which is an added bonus ;)
The stamps I used on this card are from the June 2011 Kit. I used my Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color in the birds to match the patterned paper.

Card stock: Stampin Up Rich Razzleberry (one of my FAVES!) and Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise

Quick Quotes and Peachy Keen Blog Hop

Hello there crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you've come from Emma's blog, then you are golden. If not, make sure you start at the beginning over at the PKS blog so you don't miss a chance to win one of two fun prizes up for grabs. You'll have until Sunday night to complete the 2-day hop (more fun tomorrow!).

Peachy Keen Stamps and Quick Quotes have partnered up this weekend to bring you fun creations from both Design Teams. It's a collaboration celebration!

Here is my card using PKS faces and Quick Quotes paper, French Quarter line. When I sat down to create, I was a bit perplexed. Peachy Keen Faces are so whimsical and these gorgeous products from QQ are so elegant and classy. How was I going to pair them up? And thus, this card was created.
I used Peachy Keen Stamps Princess Faces and the Pagoda Cricut cartridge. The patterned paper, including the quote, is from Quick Quotes. I then blinged it up with crocheted ribbon, flowers and a feather.

I hope you enjoyed my creation today. Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win some fabulous prizes from each company. The deadline to comment is 11:59 pm EDT, Sunday, September 18.

Now, off you go to Heidi's blog....have fun!

Rainbow Connection Challenge!

About a month ago, I promised my lovely followers I would start posting more valuable and FUN stuff here on my blog. So far, I've had a few giveaways on my Facebook page, done a video and posted more projects. I really want to start including YOU (my readers) into my blog more. I want to see what FABULOUS projects YOU create and we call share together.

So....who's up for a CHALLENGE? The challenge theme is....wait for it....

So who wants to play? Your project can be ANYTHING: a card, a layout, altered project, whatever you want! I love challenges. In fact, this project I made was a challenge for me. I'll let y'all in on a little secret: I submitted this card into the Paper Craft Magazine's Submission Call - and it was rejected. And rejection is ok. It challenges me to do more, do better and be more. So now I can recycle this project here on my blog! Here is my rainbow card:

Prismacolors + Baby Oil Technique

Hello friends! I hope everyone had a terrific weekend. I have been working on flowers galore...they are taking over my life! I'm so excited about the response, thank you for your orders! I hope everyone takes times to post their projects on my Facebook page or sends me a link, I would love to see these flowers in action.

I took some time today to try out a new stamping technique with my new Market Street Stamps. I own Promarkers, but I have never really gotten the whole shading thing down, mostly because I haven't really taken the time to sit down and practice. I decided today would be a good time to break out my Prismacolor Colored Pencils and use them with baby oil. Yep, baby oil! Many stampers use mineral oil but I didn't have much luck tracking that down in Michael's. (I sort of get all confused in the drawing section heehee!) So....baby oil it was.....

Here is a video explaining how I use the oil to blend in my colored pencils. It gives it a marker look and shades sooooo easily! I love this new technique!

This was the first card I created using this technique. I love how it turned out and I can't wait to keep playing with my Prismacolors. I hope you enjoy!

Peachy Keen Stamps September Release Blog Hop!

Goooooood happy peachy Friday morning friends! I am sooooooo very excited to share with you all my projects I created with the Peachy Keen Stamps Happy-Go-Lucky Dog sets. These are just too precious for words, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to see doggies Peachy Keen style! I love them. Here are my two cards I made with the new Happy-Go-Lucky Dog sets.
Isn't her face just too sweet? I love how cute she looks with her eyes closed. This cute pup is from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge.
This face stamp with the dog bone just cracks me up. I slanted his head because that's what my doggy does a lot of the times when I ask her a question. This doggy is also from Create a Critter.

As if you needed another excuse to purchase these beauties, PKS is having an Anniversary Sale! How sweet is that? If you spend $25 - $39.99, you get 15% off, spend $40 - $74.99, you get 20% off and if you spend $75 + you get 25% off! SCORE.

OH and don't forget to leave a comment here for your chance to win the new releases. The comments will be drawn from all the designers' blogs.

I could go on and on about how adorable these stamps are, but I think you all know just how cute they are, so onto the next hop - which is the fabulous Samantha! Her work always just amazes me. Have fun hopping!

Here's the lineup in case you get lost drooling (no pun intended) over these cute stamps:

Guest Designer for My Creative Time: Flower Headband Gift

Excited Erin here today! Why? Because I am guest designing for one of my FAVORITE fellow crafters, Miss Emma Aguilar from My Creative Time!

Emma and I go waaaaaaay back to the very beginning of my crafting days and I just love her to pieces! She is so creative and has such a huge heart. Did I happen to mention she has a FABULOUS line of stamps and dies available? When she released her gift card die, I knew I just HAD to have it. What a perfect addition to any crafter's stash. It's so easy to use and perfect for last minute holiday or birthday gifts. Grab a piece of cardstock, run it through your Cuttlebug or Big Shot and DONE!
For my project today, I wanted to make something unique to show you the versatility this die has. I created this baby flower headband for a gift (using one of my Sugar Monkey flowers as a clip that attaches to a stretchy headband). I wrapped the headband around a gift card size piece of cardstock for the inside. Then, I used a combination of Emma's stamp sets Paper Princess and You're My Best Buddy (by using the tape method: tape words you don't want off, ink, remove tape then stamp!) and other embellies for the front.

Since the flower clip would make the inside too bulky, I simply clipped the detachable flower to the front of the gift card holder after I pushed the front under the tab and VOILA! Easy instant gift for a baby girl. Isn't it sweet and just so super girly fabulous?

I just love making these flowers - I wanted to make them for fellow crafters who could use them as scrapbooking or card embellies and also for non-crafters as barrette clips or headbands. I think flowers are my calling! :) You can find my flowers in my Store or on Etsy.

A HUGE thank you to Emma for letting me showcase her fabulous stamp sets and beautiful gift card die. I can see this die getting a BIG workout in my craft room during the upcoming holiday months!

Have a GREAT day everyone and thanks for visiting me at Erin Lee Creative!

Peachy Keen Stamps LFIF Challenge: Back to School

Hi gang! I'm here today with another PKS LFIF Challenge. This week it's Back to School! Fun fun. If you enter, you can be eligible to add some precious PKS faces to your collection. Check it out here. My project for today is Cupcakes in a Jar! I made these sweet treats and decorated the top of the jars with a cute lil Peachy Keen cupcake. I think they turned out pretty cute!
These are so super easy to make! Here's what you'll need:

Muffin pan
12 mason jars, small
Cake Mix with 2 tubs of frosting (or you can make your own...I am a busy mom so no time for that!)
piping bag with tip

Wash and dry mason jars (I got mine at Target). Bake cupcakes according to directions (I used Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting) without the liner. Make sure to use spray on the pan! Let cool. Cut them in half.
Start with a bottom half of cupcake in the bottom of the jar.
Then, pipe a thin layer of frosting next.
Layer until you reach near the top of the jar, ending with a frosting layer. I used chocolate sprinkles!
I didn't even bother sealing the lids, just put the tops back on and screwed them on.
Then decorate lids! I wrapped two layers of twine around my jar lids. Then I attached my spellbinders scallop circle die pieces to the top of the lid, embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The cupcake is from the Smiley Cards cartridge and I of course used Peachy Keen Stamps Princess Faces! The sentiment stamp is from MFT Hello Cupcake set. Hope you enjoyed.

Now, go make some cupcakes! :)
