Happy Mother's Day!

Hi there! Guess what? I am determined to learn how to use the Cameo and all it's cool features. I can't wait to explore this machine more. Today, I created a card for a VERY special mom - my mama. I used my Cameo to create the word happy with a font I already had on my Mac {so no purchase necessary}. I used one of the new Indie Chic stacks from My Mind's Eye andddddd of course, Unity Stamps {flower, retro mom and sentiment}. I am pretty happy with how this one turned out. GO GO CAMEOOOOOO!
Speaking of moms, mine is coming over later today to hang out. I'm making her dinner {and my dad} and am going to make Pioneer Woman's meatloaf and mashed potatoes with pecan pie for dessert. YUMMO! I am a big fan of trying new recipes from her these days. They are so tasty! In fact, I even have coffee meshing with water right now for her iced coffee recipe. So good. Enjoy today!

Mother is a verb.

Ain't THAT the truth!?!?

I bought one of Unity's Facebook Insta-sales a few weeks back. I really had no idea what I was "buying" when I wrote "I WANT IT!" but I knew it would be fabulous regardless. And BOY was it EVER! Grab bags of their amazing red rubber. Andrea rocks. A lot of them I didn't have yet, which is a huge accomplishment considering my Unity stash I already own.
I also got my NEW distress inks in the mail. This spring set from my good friend Timmy (ok, so maybe he has NO idea who I am...) is just gorgeous. My favorite color is teal....so peacock feathers? Amazing. And that YELLOW. It's so BRIGHT. I ink around the edge of the stamp with the yellow (which is actually called squeezed lemonade - so clever).

So I got to work and inked up this cute Itty Bitty. I have Mother's Day cards to create! One down:
I used Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection for the paper. I thought it was appropriate for this particular stamp. I LOVE vintage lady stamps! There needs to be more out there. Just sayin.

Speaking of Mother's Day.....my husband ROCKS. While a lot of moms would be cool with flowers or jewelry for Mother's Day, I prefer other things. Check out what he built me......a PHOTO LIGHT BOX! Isn't it great? I love it so much. Perfect gift. He also hooked me up with a tripod over my desk shelf so I can make BETTER videos now! HURRAY!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. TGIF!!!

Keep Calm and Stamp On. My new motto.

So there I was, minding my own business driving home after work. I needed to pick up a few things for my daughter's teacher appreciation gifts and the store I was going to just happened to be next door to a craft store. DARN! heehee. I found this fabulous stamp. And the reason I say it's fabulous is because if I had to put my craftiness into a stamp, this would be it. It almost projected light and ahhhhhh sounds from the shelf. Crafting is my stress relief, therefore, I shall keep calm and stamp on.

I also picked up a little jar of Zing embossing powder in HOT PINK. I envisioned what this card would look like the second I saw that hot pink embossing powder. I sped home and inked it right up and created  this little gem. I used a Unity Stamp to emboss the chevron pattern onto the white cardstock and used Spellbinders to create my zig zag squares. A little bling on top of the crown, and voila!
So keep calm....and stamp on my crafty friends!

That's What Friends Are For Blog Hop {Peachy Keen Alumni}

Hi friends! I'm so excited today to be posting this project for a very special blog hop. The original gang over at Peachy Keen Stamps decided to round up the troops for an Alumni Blog Hop - the original crew! I was so honored to serve on the Peachy Keen Stamps Design Team and made so many crafty friends along the way. I owe Kathy and Angelica big hugs someday in real life for allowing me to grow as a crafter.

For my project today, I even whipped out the old Cricut! I used the Playtime cartridge for this card and paired it up with one of Peachy Keen Stamps' new stamp sets Cherub Faces. Aren't they precious? I used three here - one on the girl's face and two on the ice cream cones. The sentiment is from Market Street Stamps, I thought it was pretty fitting ;)
Next stop on the hop is my talented friend Janice. Have fun hopping!

Hello My Friend card

Hello my friend(s)! I hope everyone is having a great week - we are halfway through! I made this card a while back for a pub call and am just now posting it. I used Unity Stamp Company's February 2012 Kit of the Month for these stamps. I created a banner effect and used a whole LOT of pop dots on this card with my Stampin Up inks. Isn't it so bright and cheery?
Here is another card I made using Unity's Tiny Vintage Banner Itty Bitty and a previous KOTM. You. Are. OLD. hee hee!
Have a great Wednesday - make it a good one! xoxo
