Okay so I have to say I am VERY excited about this awesome new stamp that is releasing today. She is totally gorgeous and so fun to color. A must have to add to your Unity collection for sure.
This card was so therapeutic to make for me last night. I love her hair! I would love to do something crazy, but alas, I will have to stick with crazy hair on my cards. HA!

Don't forget to check out all the new releases today, along with the moving sale Unity is having!
And, don't forget to leave comments on the blogs for your chance to win some cool rubber stamps.

That's all for today! xo

Hello my friend.

Hi there, blog friends! It's been a while it seems since I've blogged. After Gallery Idol, I took a small little weekend hiatus to refocus and step away from the craft room for a bit. BUT - I'm back at it!
I had fun creating this sweet little card. The stamps featured are Avery Elle's Goldie set. I LOVE this sweet little set designed by my talented friend JJ Bolton. I also used My Favorite Things Bokeh stamp set to achieve the background.

I am linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is friendship! I'm also linking this up to my girl Taheerah's Cure For the Monday Blues Challenge!

Have a fabby day. xo

Getting a little messy sometimes.

So last week, I was able to attend the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington. What a super fun shopping day! I was also able to meet this guy.
You might recognize him? Ha ha! Yes, the one and only Tim Holtz. I got to watch him demo and asked him to take a selfie with me. Such a big inspiration. So happy I went! He totally inspired me to do something...

For about a month now, I have been heavily involved in a little competition called Gallery Idol. Each weekend I progressed, I had to make another card. Each card had to be perfect, flawless and meticulously executed. It was an awesome experience (we find out tomorrow who wins), but it was also exhausting. Restamping, recreating, crossing my fingers with each step along the way of my card creation hoping it would be perfect. (well, not literally. I kind of needed my fingers to work.)

ANYWAY. I wanted to go back to "messy" crafty. Tim is known for his messy, grunge look and I was totally inspired by him to just get messy with my paper crafting again. So I did!

I pulled out Unity's current Kit of the Month, In Love With Love (which is awesome by the way) and my Distress products - the markers and ink pads and also a Tim Holtz stencil. What fun I had!

Here is my tag I created. It's not perfect. It's not supposed to be. But it is art, and it is mine. And I had so much fun making it!
And since you are hopping with Unity, don't forget to leave those comments for a chance at an awesome Unity prize package!

Gallery Idol Round 5: Adhesives

Well, this is it! The final round of Gallery Idol 2014. What a thrilling ride it has been! Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for your support, kind words, love and votes. It has been such a blessing to have you all cheering for me. That is winning enough for me, but if I were to win the whole thing...well that would just be the cherry on TOP!
For this challenge to use adhesives in a unique way, I used Hero Art's tiny triangle cover plate die with a ScorTape adhesive sheet mounted on white cardstock and die cut it. From there, I peeled each row of adhesive backing off, exposing the sticky part to adhere different colors of glitter one color at a time. I loved the look, but didn't want it to overpower the dream catcher, so I used black cardstock angled panels.
The dream catcher is die cut from my Silhouette Cameo in a gold linen cardstock. The feathers are also glue tipped and dipped in embossing powder, then heated. The right feather uses the same technique as the background, just reversed colors. I felt the sentiment from Unity Stamp Company was a perfect fit to complete the card heat embossed to match!
If you feel my card (and all my past cards) are worthy of the Gallery Idol crown, I would love your final vote so very much. Sending out lots of love to you all and feeling humble to be in it still. xoxo

Gallery Idol Round 4: Border Stamps

Hi everyone! I'm here today to post my Gallery Idol Round 4 card. The challenge this week? Border stamps. EEEEEK! When I saw that, I sorta cringed. I only have 4 border stamp sets! WHAT? But, I had to make what I had work.

There was a lot of heat embossing that took place with this creation. Phew! I had to try quite a few times on the black and gold stripes, because first stamping the black and then the gold offset was no easy task to get right. The deer is a die cut from my Silhouette, isn't he regal in gold?

The flowers are WPlus9 Spring Blooms stamps and dies, and the sentiment is also from WPlus9.

Border stamps used: Simon Says Stamp Artful Borders and My Favorite Things Mod Borders.

I really cannot express enough how grateful I am for all of you that have supported me in Gallery Idol thus far. I have been having a blast and it is a JOY to read all of your sweet comments and know that I have people supporting me with their votes. So thank you!!! Much love to you all!

be amazing. {Unity + Donna Downey}

Hi! So, I got this beauty in the mail yesterday. I squealed when I opened the package. She is AMAZING in real life. Stunning. I RAN upstairs to ink her up and set up all my watercolor supplies and eagerly anticipated my babes' bedtime so I could PLAY.
Sometimes, you just gotta get a little messy.
And be amazing. PS this stamp? She's on sale. GO. You need her. I mean, look at her? Just sayin.

Onto the next blog....don't forget to leave comments for prizes!

Lil' Inker Designs June Release: Day 3

Hi! I'm here posting my last two cards for the June Release for Lil' Inker Designs. What do you guys think so far of all the fab new dies and stamps? I've loved working with them!

My first card shows the versatility of the Unscramble This stamp set. There are a few sentiments on there that I LOVE for everyday cards.
The next card I made using the Hello die. Word dies are ALL the rage right now along with brush scripts to go with watercoloring, so these are simply PERFECT!
Here are all the products I used for my cards today:

Your next stop is Heather Campbell! Love that girl. Don't forget to leave your comments for chances to win a $15 gift certificate to the LID store

Hi again, friends! Coming at you today with another card I made for Lil' Inker Design's June release!
Today, I am featuring the awesome new scattered sequin die and the thumbs up stamp set.
This sequin die is soooo versatile! You can use it for just the polka dot stitched panel or the sequins! Love multi-functional dies. I used one thumb to create a "thumbs down" to match the sentiment from The Fine Print. Hee hee!

I hope you are enjoying the new releases...onto Heather's blog! And don't forget to check out all the new goodies in the Lil' Inker Store!

Gallery Idol 2014: Round 3 {Stencils}

Round 3 of Gallery Idol has officially opened up for voting. EEEEEEEK! This is such a fun ride, I have to say. It's so fun being challenged, pushing yourself to think outside the box, cheering on fellow crafty friends and anticipating the results. I wish it never ended!

This round, we were challenged to use stencils. I knew immediately I wanted to use embossing paste. It is such a fun medium to play with, almost like being a kid again!
Poppy Ombre Hello Card
I started with using a Crafter's Workshop stencil and black glossy embossing paste. I also mixed white embossing paste with various gray inks so I could apply the pastes and get an ombre affect, as it goes lighter to darker.

I stamped the Unity Stamp Company Donna Poppy with the black outline, then placed a Tim Holtz stencil over and blended Fired Brick Distress Ink over the flower, carefully staying within the lines of the stamp outline. I then fussy cut and adhered it to the card base with a gold Lawn Fawn leaf die tucked behind.

The Hello die is from WPlus9. I wanted to tie in the gold, but it needed a shadow effect to stand out, so I die cut it in black and glued the two pieces together.

Finished off the card with some red enamel dots and a black strip on the right side to give the perfect balance.

I hope you enjoy my card for this round, and of course would LOVE your votes to keep me moving on! Thank you so much for supporting my work. xoxo

My first card I am posting today is using the new Piece of Me stamp set and the Puzzle Pieces Die. LOVE these together! The puzzle pieces actually fit together to create a real puzzle. How awesome is that!??! I also used the Stitched Hearts and Stitched Rectangles for this card.

Your next stop along the hop is the talented Heather Campbell. Have fun, and don't forget to leave comments on the way for your chance to win LID dollars to use in the LID shop!

Curtain Call Challenge

Hi there! Happy Sunday morning to you all.

I am here today posting a card I made for this week's new Curtain Call Challenge. Unity is hosting this week! WHOOP!

The theme is something simple, so that should be easy enough for you to participate, no? Here is what I came up with.
I used PTI's new scribble circle dies and Unity's Painted Sentiments stamp set.

I hope you all have a fabulous, relaxing Sunday! See you back here tomorrow with my Gallery Idol Round 3 card! EEEEEEEK!
