Gallery Idol Round 3: Masculine / Feminine Card

Good morning friends! First off: I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all those who voted for my card in Round 2 of Gallery Idol because I'm back for Round 3!!!! I know registering to vote can be a bit cumbersome, but now, if you've voted once, all you have to do is log in and it's much easier this time around. So I hope you will visit the Paper Crafts Magazine Gallery Idol contest page and vote for me again so I can keep progressing.

The challenge for this round was to use the same paper or stamp for both a masculine and feminine card. I absolutely loved this challenge. I found out the theme last Friday morning at 6 am and couldn't stop thinking about it all day. I was able to work on my cards Friday afternoon and here is what I came up with for this round.
For this pair of cards, I went with a night on the town. The Tim Holtz embossing folders I ran across at Hobby Lobby that morning were really the inspiration behind these cards.
I cut the suit, dress and bows from my Silhouette (designs can be found in the Silhouette store) and with a little manipulating of sizes, I was able to get them just right for my 4.5x5.25 cards. The patterned paper I used was My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dilly Dally collection. {I think I used almost the entire stack.} I inked those up with gray and black inks so they would pop a bit more. The sentiment stamps are from Unity Stamp Company (Hey Stud Itty Bitty and Undeniably You).
Once I had my cards laid out onto the card base, I realized they needed something else. Ever get that feeling? I knew right away the suit needed to be stitched and I wanted to incorporate the stitching into the feminine card as well, so out came my trusty Janome sewing machine.
To make the feminine card SUPER feminine, I added roses, feathers and pearls.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to read more about my cards. Please please PLEASE click on the link below to be taken to my entry to vote. Thank you SO much for your continued support!!
