GIU Day #3: adore.

Day 3 of Growing in Unity. For today's card, I used the Unity sets Donna Peony and Adore Words {psssst this set is SO on sale right now! $7.33!} I again used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers and a water brush pen. I know, you are probably getting sick of this technique from me but.... I did a fun twist this time....white heat embossing. LOVE how it turned out. The white really pops against the navy.
So I'm going to do a little tutorial real quickies how I created this card. To create this look, I used watercolor paper (Canson is my favorite, I like the thickness) and inked up the peony using my go to Top Boss embossing ink, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. It looked like this:
I then took my Distress Marker in Chipped Sapphire and started coloring in what I thought the darkest part of the flower would be in real life. Next, I took my water brush pen and started brushing outwards, to get this effect:
The water from the brush pen resists against the white embossing, so it's basically fail proof! Love that. I then cut out the flower and adhered it to my navy card base after I heat embossed the sentiment in white.
Glued a flower center embellie from Hobby Lobby and that's it!
Thanks for joining me today. Have a great weekend.
